According to Hyundai officials, Verna is the segment leader among C segment cars in India, thanks to its top notch fit and finish and futuristic design. In another attempt to push sales, Hyundai will bless the sedan with automatic gearbox option with the trim version of Hyundai Verna 1.6 Litre Diesel. As of now, Hyundai India is offering four speed automatic transmission in Verna’s top end SX (O) variant. The camera works only when the reverse gear is active and helps in parking mostly. This is a much better feature compared to reverse parking sensors present in rival cars.

The changes are mainly in power distribution which is low in this version i.e. 90 PS at 4000rpm as compared to the petrol version. The 1.4L diesel engine produces a torque of 22.43kgm at 1750~2750 rpm. With compression ratio of 17, this diesel variant weighs around 1140~1181kg. Third variant i.e. 1.6L petrol engine is available in two transmission modes i.e. Automatic transmission & Manual Transmission modes. A 1591 cc engine in-line with 4-cylinder is placed in this Hyundai Verna Fluidic car variant. Adding some more thrust to the built, the power distribution is of 123.05 PS at 6300rpm plus the maximum torque delivered is 15.8kgm at 4200 rpm. With same compression ratio as of 1.4L petrol, this variant holds a kerb weight of 1030~1071 (Manual transmission) and 1055~1096 (Auto transmission). Moving a bit forward, Hyundai Verna 1.6L petrol variant incorporates disc brakes in both front and rear tires.
