458 Italia

The Ferrari 458 Italia continues to go from strength to strength and has garnered over 30 international awards in its short career. Yesterday, it added two further plaudits to that collection at the International Engine of the Year Awards when its V8 was voted “Best Performance Engine” and “Best Engine Above 4 Litres”.
The success being enjoyed by the 458 Italia with both critics and public alike crosses all borders– it has won awards in a host of different nations from the USA to the Far East and Europe. In the US, the mid-rear V8 was named "World Performance Car of the Year". It was also named “Car of the Year” by the Robb Report.

458 Spide

The 458 Spider ushers in a whole new generation of Ferrari convertibles
An effortless marriage of technology, design and beauty, it is also the first car ever to combine a mid-rear engine with a retractable folding hard top that delivers both unprecedented in-cabin comfort when closed and unparalleled Spider performance.
A story that changes with the times but which also continues a glorious tradition founded in great part on fabulous open-top cars designed for hot sunny days: Spiders, Cabriolets and Barchettas. All cars that are spectacularly wonderful to drive because having just the open sky above you as you grip the wheel has a unique and truly unforgettable emotional impact: hearing the engine’s soundtrack, feeling the car’s speed, having the perfumes of the world swirl around you.
The Ferrari 458 Spider offers a whole new set of emotions and adds a genuine sense of sportiness and power to weekend trips à deux. A clever mix of sounds supplied by the car’s 570 horse power incorporates just the right notes, turning it into music to your ears: music that acts as a brilliant soundtrack not only to the pleasure of driving a Prancing Horse car but in-car chat

F12berlinetta

The F12berlinetta not only ushers in a whole new generation of Prancing Horse 12-cylinders but is also the most powerful and high performance Ferrari ever built.
The F12berlinetta’s 200-bar, direct-injection 6262 cc 65° V12 delivers absolutely unprecedented performance for a naturally aspirated 12-cylinder engine in terms of both power and revs. It has a maximum power output of 740 CV at 8250 rpm, while its specific power output is 118 CV/l, a record for this kind of engine. Responsiveness and strong pick-up are assured by maximum torque of 690 Nm, 80 per cent of which is already on tap at 2500 rpm.

Exceptional strides have also been made with regard to fuel consumption and emissions both of which have been slashed by 30% to 15l/100 km and 350 g/km of CO2, making the F12berlinetta a benchmark for its reference segment.

Its wheelbase is also shorter, the engine and driver seat have been lowered and the rear in more compact thanks to the new suspension and gearbox layout. It is a shorter, lower and narrower car than the previous V12 coupé. Weight distribution is ideal too (54% at the rear) while the centre of gravity is lower and has been moved rearwards in the chassis.

599 HY-KERS

l HY-KERS Hybrid

Ferrari at Geneva: protagonists in innovation and the environment

The Experimental HY-KERS Hybrid vehicle

Geneva, 2 March - The HY-KERS vettura laboratorio (experimental vehicle) is an example of how Ferrari is approaching the development of hybrid technology without losing sight of the performance traits and driving involvement that have always exemplified its cars.

This hybrid project is also aimed at ensuring that Ferrari will be in a position to comply with future CO2 emissions standards, particularly in terms of the urban cycle. City driving is traditionally where sports cars are most penalised as their engines are designed for maximum efficiency and performance at high revs, whereas the urban cycle involves low revs and low engine loads.

Ferrari has employed its racing experience to adapt an advanced, lightweight hybrid drivetrain to the 599 GTB Fiorano with the aim of ensuring that vehicle dynamics are unaffected. This was achieved by the careful integration of all system components, positioning them below the centre of gravity and ensuring that interior and luggage space are entirely unaffected. Similarly the flat lithium-ion batteries are positioned below the floorpan. The result is a centre of gravity that is even lower than in the standard car.

Ferrari has also applied its F1 technology to the design, engineering and construction of a new kind of electric motor which helps optimise the longitudinal and lateral dynamics of the car, enhancing traction and brake balance. The motor also features a unique cooling and lubrication system for maximum efficiency under all operating temperatures and loads.

Weighing about 40 kg, the compact, tri-phase, high-voltage electric motor of the HY-KERS is coupled to the rear of the dual-clutch 7-speed F1 transmission. It operates through one of the transmission’s two clutches and engages one of the two gearbox primary shafts. Thus power is coupled seamlessly and instantaneously between the electric motor and the V12. The electric motor produces more than 100 hp as Ferrari’s goal was to offset every kilogram increase in weight by a gain of at least one hp.

Under braking the electric drive unit acts as a generator, using the kinetic energy from the negative torque generated to recharge the batteries. This phase is controlled by a dedicated electronics module which was developed applying experience gained in F1 and, as well as managing the power supply and recharging the batteries, the module also powers the engine’s ancillaries (power steering, power-assisted brakes, air conditioning, on-board systems) via a generator mounted on the V12 engine when running 100 per cent under electric drive. It also incorporates the hybrid system’s cooling pump.

This experimental vehicle thus maintains the high-performance characteristics typical of all Ferraris while, at the same time, reducing CO2 emissions on the ECE + EUDC combined cycle by 35 per cent.

Hyundai Verna

                                              Hyundai Verna Fluidic
Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.6 CRDi EX
24 May, 2012: Hyundai Verna Fluidic has spent more than a year on Indian roads and the growth curve for this modernistic sedan has been tremendous. According to Hyundai officials, Verna is the segment leader among C segment cars in India, thanks to its top notch fit and finish and futuristic design. In another attempt to push sales, Hyundai will bless the sedan with automatic gearbox option with the trim version of Hyundai Verna 1.6 Litre Diesel. By providing automatic transmission, Hyundai will remove airbag and alloy wheels from the variant, which in turn will cut down the price from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75000. As of now, Hyundai India is offering four speed automatic transmission in Verna’s top end SX (O) variant. Also, the carmaker is offering reversing camera (usually offered on high-end cars) as standard across all the variants. The camera works only when the reverse gear is active and helps in parking mostly. This is a much better feature compared to reverse parking sensors present in rival cars.

The New Hyundai Verna Fluidic is a perfect blend of exquisite interior and sporty exterior. Known for boasting “Fluidic Sculpture” (name given by Hyundai), the car adorns style, luxury and sporty appearance. With Verna, Hyundai definitely wants to grab the market share so they left no stone unturned in delivering the perfect machine in the Indian market. As per Hyundai Verna reviews one can easily identify that this car is fully packed with all safety, elegance and hi-technological features, thus making it fully loaded. The safety features of New Hyundai Verna make it one of the safest cars in Sedan segment. The car incorporates some first time used safety measures like six airbags (side and curtain), rear disc brakes, impact sensing door unlock, speed sensing door lock, clutch lock system and reverse camera.

Hyundai – The South Korean car maker company launched Hyundai Verna car model first in 2006 and again it has created the old charisma with new looks, added with pack of latest features. By checking the appearance and attributes of new Hyundai Verna it is quite certain that the car is going to deliver tough competition to the other cars of C+ segment i.e. Honda City, Fiat Linea, Maruti Suzuki SX4 and Volkswagen Vento. After the launch of New Hyundai Verna Fluidic, it is now clear that this car is going to deliver same positive effect to the company as created by Hyundai Accent in earlier days. Company is offering Verna with eight engine variants i.e. 1.4L Petrol/1.4L Diesel, 1.6L Petrol/1.6L Diesel, two SX 1.6L petrol/diesel version and two high-end variants with optional features. The 1.6L petrol/diesel engine models are available in two transmission options – Automatic transmission and Manual transmission, whereas 1.4L petrol/diesel models have only the manual transmission feature.

Described as “Fluidic Sculpture” in new Hyundai Verna reviews by test drive experts, the car provides a blend of exquisite, comfortable & classy interior with sporty exterior. Moving forward with the exterior looks of the car, this all new sedan boasts sporty looks accompanied by improved & two tone headlamps, front hexagonal grille, L-shaped fog lamps and sleek & trendy bonnet. Adding more thrust to eye-catchy appearance of Hyundai Verna Fluidic, the car is fitted with trendy side mirror integrated with turn lights, chrome plated door handles with big tail lamps blended with massive stop light.  Furthermore, Hyundai Verna standard model boasts horizontally shaped turn indicator and reverse light for delivering more sportiness.

As we know, interiors have always been plus point for this South Korean car company so definitely this time also Hyundai Verna kept thumbs-up with the previous milestones. The interior of New Hyundai Verna Fluidic is packed with comfort, luxury and safety measures which includes stylish central “V-shaped” console with integrated music system, six airbags for front seat driver and passenger, ABS, front & rear seat belts and adjustable steering wheel.  For providing complete entertainment and relaxation while driving, the top model of new Hyundai Verna encompasses full set of MP3 CD-system with complete set of speakers and tweeters, power steering, power window and automatic climate control system. Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.4L petrol engine (DOHC VTVT) incorporates 1396cc engine with 4 cylinder in-line. Furthermore, power distributed by this engine model is 107 PS at 6300rpm and provides torque of 13.8kgm at 5000rpm. With compression ratio of 10.5, new Hyundai Verna holds a kerb weight of 1030kg. Also, the car model is fitted with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.

Next is Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.4 diesel engine model (CRDi) which offers some relief to the customer’s wallet with mileage of 15-17kmpl  while encompassing same engine configuration of 1396cc with 4 in-line cylinder. The changes are mainly in power distribution which is low in this version i.e. 90 PS at 4000rpm as compared to the petrol version. The 1.4L diesel engine produces a torque of 22.43kgm at 1750~2750 rpm. With compression ratio of 17, this diesel variant weighs around 1140~1181kg. Third variant i.e. 1.6L petrol engine is available in two transmission modes i.e. Automatic transmission & Manual Transmission modes. A 1591 cc engine in-line with 4-cylinder is placed in this Hyundai Verna Fluidic car variant. Maruti Ertiga

                                                Maruti Ertiga

25 May, 2012: Maruti Ertiga, the life utility vehicle from the stables of India’s most trusted brand Maruti has set a recording of clocking in 32,000+ bookings in just a month from its launch. The reason behind the increase in demand of this MUV is cited as the cost at which it is available in the B+ hatchback segment.  Interestingly Maruti Ertiga MPV's 70% booking is for the diesel variant. At present Maruti manufactures 6,000 units monthly and this massive demand of the vehicle has increased the waiting period up to six months. Maruti Ertiga MPV is being manufactured at the Maruti Suzuki Gurgaon production unit but the auto major is trying to find other manufacturing units to assist the production in order to fulfill the rising demand of this MPV. Maruti Ertiga's price is expected to hike in coming time; when Maruti India launched Ertiga the price quoted of the car was between INR 5.89 lakh for petrol and INR 8.45 lakh for diesel.

With the launch of Maruti Ertiga, earlier codenamed as Maruti R3, Maruti Suzuki India has taken into its ambit almost all car segments. Following the robust branding and low maintenance nature of Maruti cars, Maruti Ertiga has hit bang on the MPV market of India. Seven seater Maruti Ertiga is tagged as the great Indian family car. This can be also attributed to the effective price tag associated with Ertiga MPV. The new MPV received its name from Indonesian language in which Ertiga means Three Rows. Albeit the looks and features scream that it is a Multi Purpose Vehicle, Ertiga is positioned in the sub-segment of Utility vehicles and this new segment is called as LUV-Life Utility Vehicle by Maruti. With this, Maruti officials claim they have created an entirely new segment in the Indian auto industry.

Ertiga’s launch has also announced Maruti’s entry into the utility segment of cars where the company is currently not a major player. Maruti in India has a bee-line of cars including some of the best selling ones in almost every segment. It has Maruti Gypsy and Maruti Grand Vitara in the SUV segment; however these have meager sales as compared to SUVs of other brands. Besides, there are vans including Maruti Omni and Maruti Eeco that provide good option and are value for money cars but still used mainly be fleet owners. Ertiga is the first utility vehicle which is targeted as a premium product and is equipped with such features which attract urban audience.

Maruti Ertiga was first unveiled at the Auto Expo held in New Delhi in 2010 as Maruti R3 concept. However, the global premier of Maruti Ertiga was done in 2012 Auto Expo. Finally, on April 12th, 2012, Ertiga made its global debut in Delhi. Ertiga is the first Maruti car that is specially made for Indian market and will then be trimmed for other global markets. Rest, all the cars were first launched in other countries and where tailor made for India afterwards. The compact LUV has been developed in collaboration with parent Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC)'s research and design wing in Japan and is produced in India itself. The Ertiga is manufactured at company's facility in Gurgaon in India. Maruti Suzuki has vested nearly Rs 430 crore (Rs 4.3 billion) in developing Ertiga. The designers have carefully built in `features and attributes’ of a sedan in a compact MPV Maruti Ertiga which is essentially built on theme of togetherness.

The almost fully grown seven-seater MPV or rather, LUV, is available in both petrol and diesel variants and three different trims. Based on Maruti Swift’s platform, Maruti Ertiga petrol is packed with an all new 1.4 litre 1372cc K series (K14B) engine that produces a maximum power of 95 Ps at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 130 Nm at 4000 rpm. Being the K-Series engine, the USP of these engines is that they are more fuel efficient. The Certified fuel efficiency (as per CMV Rule 155, India cycle) of Petrol Ertiga is a top of the class 16.02 km per litre. The 1.3 L 1196cc DDiS Super Turbo diesel engine is the other engine guise that powers the LUV. This Fiat sourced engine is similar to that of the Maruti SX4 sedan. The Maruti Ertiga diesel produces 90 Ps at 4000 rpm and 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. The Certified fuel efficiency (CMV Rule 155, India cycle) of Diesel Ertiga is a class leading 20.77 kmpl. Maruti MPV has a five speed manual transmission system and the car is a front wheel drive and sports fine quality interiors, which makes it more appealing.

Ertiga is quite space efficient and will boast of its interior spacing within the mini MPV segment with 4265mm in length and 2740 mm wheelbase. Two airbags will adorn the top end models while ABS will be a part of standard equipment in Ertiga sans base model. Ertiga MPV is available in six variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, LDi, VDi and ZDi. The middle and top end variants get twin AC, 3 spoke tilt-power steering with mounted controls, power windows with auto down on driver’s side, central locking, audio system (USB Compatible, 4+2 speakers), multi information display, keyless entry, etc are stuffed in Maruti Ertiga. The roof mounted AC vents in the second and the last row passenger seats provides passenger comfort. The new MPV is unquestionably designed to ensnare the Indian families who are specially looking for a perfect merger of everyday space and usability. This car is able to meet all life’s expectations.

Maruti Swift Dzire

                                                                Maruti Swift Dzire
